HV Measurements
Product code BIYRTH
Rosenberger’s High-Voltage Test & Measurement Solutions deliver deep insights into the EMC behaviors of high-voltage Automotive Traction Networks. Using our powerful HV measurement coupler, dedicated calibration software and calibration kits, EMC experts can perform RF voltage and current reliability calculations with absolute precision. HPK Measurement Coupler The newly developed HV Measurement Coupler for HPK series from Rosenberger enables a minimally invasive testing method for measuring the reliability of RF voltages and currents. In conjunction with a dedicated calibration process, patented algorithms accurately calculate the RF currents and voltages in the calibration reference plane. Furthermore, due to the minimal invasion techniques deployed by the coupler there is no risk of impairment to harness performance when under test. The watertight and robust design also means testing can be carried out under any environmental conditions. HPK Calibration Kit Although the HPK measurement coupler includes calibration data, an optional HPK calibration kit is also available. Combined with the RCTD software it enables customers to manage their own calibration requirements themselves. A set of all necessary calibration standards is provided and a description for the acquisition of calibration files is included in the RCTD user manual. Rosenberger recommends 12-monthly calibration intervals and offers a recalibration service to HPK coupler customers if required. RCTD Software Rosenberger Calibrated Time Domain Software (RCTD) was developed to enhance EMC-related, automotive high-voltage measurement capabilities. Within the RCTD Software, the time domain data captured by an oscilloscope using the high-voltage coupler is post-processed to calculate high frequency currents and voltages at the given calibration plane within the high-voltage power train. Therefore, calibration data is created and taken into account before measurement occurs. Delivered on a USB-stick in a sturdy wooden box, the RCTD Software includes the functions to create calibration data and post process the measurement data on a PC or directly on LeCroy HDO oscilloscopes for real-time evaluation. The software can be also used for any other directional coupler.

Rosenberger’s new RPC-1.35* precision connector series meets the growing demand for precision, high-performance RF-connections up to 90 GHz. The range addresses the expanding market for 5G, industrial sensors in the E-Band, millimeter wave sensors for self-driving vehicles, WLAN IEEE 802.11ax and 802.11ay. RPC-1.35 connectors offer a highly robust mechanical design, minimum 3000 mating cycles, high connector repeatability, and maximum return loss values – ideal for ensuring RF measurements in the E-Band without delays. The product portfolio covers semi-rigid and flexible cable assemblies, PCB connectors, test PCBs, cable connectors, in-series and inter-series adaptors, test ports, floating and waveguide-to-coaxial adaptors as well as gauge and calibration kits. *A working group, comprising PTB (Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt), Rosenberger, Rohde & Schwarz and Spinner, designed the new 1.35 mm connector to close the gap between 1.85 mm and 1.00 mm connectors. The interface standardization is in progress.

Rosenberger presents a new and innovative GPS over Fiber system for applications where coax cannot be used to route the GPS signal to base stations. With more centralized RAN and large-scale DAS applications, there are many cases where the GPS antennas are located too far from the base stations for coaxial losses to be acceptable. To overcome this issue, the GPS over Fiber system converts the RF signal to light, transmits it over the fiber, and then restores the light to the original RF signal. Working in contrast to the many systems that employ a bulky remote unit – which requires power and separate mounting space – as well as a large master unit encompassing an active GPS splitter, Rosenberger has rethought the process and designed a fiber-optic replacement for the coaxial cable. Instead of a master unit and a remote unit, the system uses an electrooptical converter (E/O converter) at the antenna and an opto-electrical converter (O/E converter) near the base station. By employing this method, the E/O converter becomes a small, compact unit that connects directly to the GPS antenna. The unit is so small that it can even fit within a 1 ½ inch pipe of the kind often used to mount GPS antennas. The O/E converter handles all alarms and is a compact unit. It can be used to power the E/O converter and can be connected to standard GPS splitters with full support for their redundancy functionality. This means that the GPS over Fiber system fully emulates the behavior of a passive copper cable and GPS antenna, allowing any device that is normally connected to the GPS antenna to maintain proper operation when connected to an O/E converter. Interconnecting the two units i.e. E/O converter to the O/E converter is a thin hybrid cable comprised of fiber and power, which means no power source is required at the GPS antenna. The individual link support for each GPS antenna allows for the flexibility of using a normal coaxial configuration and simply replacing each coax cable from a GPS antenna with an E/O converter, an O/E converter, and a hybrid cable. With a maximum hybrid cable length of 1.9 miles (3 km), this system can meet the demands of almost any installation
